hi Barbie,
Well done on your purchase, great. Sounds really nice.
We have bought nr Fethiye in the Calis Beach area and I will be out there on Weds for a week (extra treat) before going out again for 2 weeks on the 16th.

Hi Terry,
We were always under the impression Calis and Fethiye are quite a distance apart but from your posting it sounds like they are quite close to each other. We are thinking we would like to tour at some point and they are on our priority list. What do you reckon is the distance between the 2 resorts?

Lynn and Keith ,

there are loads of place to go why not start from the Bodrum Penninsular where you have some nice resorts such as Yalikavak, move on down to Marmaris, then take in Fethiye, Calis, Kalkan or Kas. I can personally recommend Patara and then go futher south and discover areas such as Belek.

All over the next few years there really are some lovely places to see.

Hi Anne and Paul, Thanks for that. We didn't realise they were so close to each other. We have seen a couple of programmes on Yalikavak and it looks really nice. We have heard very mixed reviews about Marmaris but I guess we need to go see and make up our own minds. Paul, we have never heard of Patara, where is it? I am sure we will get to see some of these places over the next few years, but at least we have identified a few places to start with.

Wow Paul, Patara looks fantastic but I don't think we can go there!!! Neither of us can kick our legs up that high so they may not let us go on the beach and the last time my ribs protruded like that, I was six!!! Seriously though it really does look lovely and unspoilt. A bit like our very first impression of Altinkum in May when it was really quiet and deserted. I think we said when we saw you and Yvonne we would not go to Altinkum again in August, it was way too busy and hot.

yes , totally agree you will find it very nice in Sept or Oct as well the only downside being most of the turkish have gone back to the cities and more hassle from bars and resaraunts to get you in as you are easier to pick out when no crowds lol

Doh!!! There is always a downside!! Oh well you can't have everything. Time for bed said Zebedee!! Too much of the old Chardonnay (sauvignon blanc actually) for me tonight, the Restaurant had run out of large wine glasses so gave me "two" smaller ones and I can now feel the effect.
So Its goodnight from me, and I don't know what he is up to!! Probably revisiting the various football teams and asking if he can be their mascot!!

Hi Mushtaq

Have you ever thought of having a small pin or badge for members to wear on their lapel or cap, so that others would be able to know each other in the streets of their locality.
I would imagine that many of us have walked by each other without knowing, sometimes it could be handy, then again maybe not, has this been raised before, what do you think.

Cheers Peter

I think this is an excellent idea

In Uzumlu so we can identify each other as village residents we carry a large turnip, 3 raddishes and a small melon under our left arm at all times. Using this system we know outsiders very quickly and burp towards them accordingly.
